Stevens-Johnson Syndrome (SJS) and Toxic Epidermal Necrolysis (TEN) are rare, serious, life-threatening skin conditions that are typically caused by a reaction to certain medications. SJS and TEN are characterized by the detachment of the top layer of skin and mucous membranes, resulting in painful blisters and sores.
Management of SJS and TEN requires immediate medical attention and often involves hospitalization. The primary goal of treatment is to discontinue the use of the suspected causative medications and provide supportive care. Patients may need specialized care in intensive care units, as they require close monitoring and effective management of complications.
Mr. Vishwanath Reddy from Mahabubnagar successfully received treatment for Stevens-Johnson Syndrome and Toxic Epidermal Necrolysis at Yashoda Hospitals, Hyderabad, under the supervision of Dr. Amit Kumar Sarda, Consultant General Physician & Diabetologist.
